The Jordan Retro XI was released during the 95-96 NBA season, arguably Michael Jordan's best season. Fresh off his hiatus from basketball, the Bulls set an NBA record winning 72 regular season games and would go on to win the 1996 NBA Championship. Jordan also won the overall NBA, All Star, and Finals MVP trophies.
All occurring in the Jordan XI, he appeared in his first feature length film Space Jam, promoting the shoe even further. The shoe employed a phylon midsole for a lightweight feel, a full length Air-Sole unit, and carbon fiber plate for added support. The most unique feature on the Jordan XI is the patent leather surrounding the shoe showcasing a style unmatched by any other sneaker of its time; truly a timeless sneaker.
